Frankly Jo: Sunday 12pm – 2pm
Jo Davis (aka Jo Cook or Jo Newman – yes, she’s been around a bit!) was born and bred in Larkhall in Bath and still likes to refer to herself as a Larkhall Lass!
Jo works full-time as a Finance Officer in Bath, as well as doing a bit of part-time bar work at Bath Rugby and the Assembly Rooms – (her favourite phrase being “Get outta ma pub!”)
Jo has a hectic lifestyle – alongside her many jobs she is also a volunteer on the management committee of local community group “Party in the Park” and has held the role of Stewarding Manger for the last 5 years. She also does her bit for charity – taking part in at least one sporting challenge each year – past events have included 3 mile swims and 55 mile charity bike rides. In May 2011 Jo was elected as a Councillor in her home village of Peasedown St John and although she loves throwing herself into village life and debate, her main aim is to be Prime Minister, or at the very least, Speaker of the House.
Jo somehow manages to find the time for her two favourite pastimes – cycling and watching Formula One (well, screaming at the telly and jumping around the room). Her favourite F1 driver is Lewis Hamilton, who she claims to love even more than she loves Jaffa Cakes – so that’s a lot!
Jo’s Sunday lunchtime show, “Frankly Jo”, offers her own frank views on life, her views of recent stories in the main and local news and an alternative way of looking at things – all this along with her favourite tracks from the last century and this one – a perfect way to spend your Sunday lunchtimes J
