Jacob Rees-Mogg on Somer Valley FM

Friday 3rd September
Jacob Rees-Mogg, MP for NE Somerset, will record his monthly surgery on Somer Valley FM this Friday.

The feature will be broadcast at 2pm this Monday, September 6th and repeated on Friday at midday and Sunday at 2pm.

The hour, presented by Dom Chambers, will be speech led with the first 40 minutes answering listeners questions. These can be on any subject from the general political and economic climate to specific questions on local issues.

The last section of the programme will focus on a specific area of government so we will be finding out ‘What did the Home Office/Chancellery/The Royal Family’, as examples, ‘ever do for me?’ In this Friday’s recording we will be asking, ‘What did The Home Office ever do for me?’

This is a great opportunity for Jacob’s constituents to put questions, raise their concerns or advance their own points of view to him.

New faces at the Market this month!

Market

They will be joined by ‘The Somerset Cheese Company’ based just a few miles down the road in Ditcheat, who have over 40 years of cheesemaking experience and a total of 6 national and international award winning cheeses amongst their range of speciality cheeses made from goats, sheep, cow and even buffalo milk! Another big cheese at this week's market will be Greens of Glastonbury, whose organic farmhouse Cheddars are already a firm favourite with customers.

The team will throw into the mix a variety of original features including Commit to get fit, The Breakfast Band of the Week and School of the Week which will give kids the chance to ‘Test their Teacher’.

The station hopes that some listeners will volunteer to help run the Breakfast Club, which carries traffic, weather, local information, interviews and local news reports and a mix of brand new and classic rock and pop.

"It takes a team of dedicated people to put a show like this together and we're looking for reporters, researchers and presenters to deliver the stories to our 14000 known listeners across the broadcast area." says presenter, Matt Clifford.

Station Manager, Dom Chambers, says,
"The Breakfast Club will be upbeat and exciting and give other broadcasters a run for their money. It's another example of how community radio can get really close to the heart of a community and keep it interesting and fun."

Join the Breakfast Club every weekday morning, 7-9am, online at www.somervalleyfm.co.uk or on 97.5fm.
