About Julian
Julian Sheppard

Julian, a committed Christian is new to broadcasting. He was previously involved in the Shoe Industry, working for Clarks for 26 years a retailer in Midsomer Norton High Street for 29 years.

Married for 49 years with 3 grown up sons and 7 grandchildren he and his wife Gill retired last year from Reflections, a business they started some 21 years ago originally as a Card and Gift shop and then added Photo Processing and a Photographic Studio. Prior to this, they owned the Rainbows Toyshop (now The Entertainer).

Born in Bath, Julian has lived in this area for most of his life, so Midsomer Norton and District is very much his home territory.

A conversation with Dom Chambers at a local Chamber of Commerce meeting a year ago about church activities and radio resulted in him meeting Dom in his Office for a chat and then wasn’t allowed to leave until he had agreed to be the Religious Features Editor for Somer Valley FM!

We endeavour to connect to all faiths in the area and welcome new items or suggestions – contact Julian on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

During this last year various local people – Ministers – church members and others - have all contributed to Thought for the Week - a short inspirational programme co-ordinated by Julian, which is broadcast 3 times during the week – 08.55 Monday and Wednesday and Sunday. Somer Valley FM has recently released a compilation CD of the best of last year's Thoughts for the Week - available from the radio station 01761 411755 option 3 - priced £7.00.
